This is painting is a depiction of South Asia women. Colorism is a global problem. In South Asian countries, light skin is considered more beautiful than dark skin. So I want to create a painting celebrating darker skin tones because I believe all skin colors are beautiful. :-) If only we can live in a world where our concepts of beauty are broad and inclusive of variety.
