Here is a poster print of a painting I did a few years ago. Everyone knows my love of West African prints and designs so I incorporate them into this piece. I also wanted to celebrate the beautiful, radiant, dark-skin of West African and African American women. Islam had a large, impactful presence in the continent of Africa, which is unfortunately overlooked in Western mainstream media. I had so much fun painting the braids and adding those bold, bright colors.
